Celebrate Yourself

As I was reflecting 🧐 on the past 40 years, I wondered why do we not celebrate ourselves often and just once a year? And for some, even that is not a day worth celebrating.

We need to celebrate 🎉 ourself daily! We owe it to ourselves to cheer our own self even just for showing up each day, if not for more reasons. I am speaking to you moms – I know the reality of how hard it is to function without a good night’s rest (esp in those early years), wear so many hats, have a million things on our to do list – yet we show up. Each day. Every day. I celebrate you today! You are worth celebrating. 👏

I think we need to stop being our worst critic, and start accepting who we are right now, anticipate who we are becoming and believe that we have the capabilities to learn as well as adapt to what ever comes our way. This my friend, is the essence of a growth mindset. Adopting and shifting our mindset allows us to embrace our reality, work on our weaknesses and work at becoming better one day at a time. If you fail, acknowledge it, but don’t indulge in a pity party. Shake off your set backs, learn from them and choose to move on with a positive outlook believing you can do it. Instead of being busy thinking about the next thing to do, let’s not rob ourselves (and our loved ones) of the joy of being present.

Today, as I celebrate my 40 years, I would like to invite you to celebrate yourself often, embrace who you are right now, look forward to who and what you are becoming, respect the fact that no matter what life has thrown at you – you are still standing. Honor yourself. Affirm yourself with truth daily. Remember that the grip of the One holding your hand is stronger than yours. God is with you every step of the way.

Today I am grateful to God for sustaining me through life to be the person I am today. I am not where I want to be but I’m on my way to be the best version of myself – one day at a time. I am grateful for a supportive spouse, loving kids, caring sisters and praying parents. I would not be here if it weren’t for them being there for me through all these years. I am where I am, because of God’s hand on my life. The one thing I am most looking forward to this year is starting my PhD 🥳 at Regent, which was one of my goals in life. Blessed to be able to do it with the generous support of my husband.

Will you join me in celebrating yourself today and to take a moment to be grateful for all our blessings?

I celebrate you🥂 and myself today! 🥰

Xoxo

Jenny
